He then completed his training in ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery from Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital and New York University Medical Center in 1992. Since then he has practiced both cosmetic and reconstructive oculoplastics (plastic surgery around the eyes and in the orbit) in the New York area.

As part of his "due diligence" in understanding FAMI, he had Dr. Amar perform it on himself in 2007. He began studying FAMI with Dr. Amar in 2005 and continues to work with him to improve the technique and advance the use of stem cells for facial reconstruction and rejuvenation. Dr. Fox is certified by Dr. Amar as having mastered FAMI.
